Pretty Feminine Office Spaces

This weekend was a long weekend in Australia so we took the opportunity to do some more work downstairs...tiling! My super handy mother came over and taught me how to tile a floor. We are using a very neutral square tile in a creamy colour because we have such low ceilings. We also managed a coat of undercoat on the newly finished walls.

My hands are now very chapped, dry and sad looking but I'm getting very excited about how close my office is to completion. I have been saving office photos on my pinterest here for weeks, and now it's getting close!

Ok, so half of those are shops, or dining rooms or some other unrelated-to-offices space but they are all inspirational! Obviously I seem to be liking feminine colours, a mix of old and new, weathered and shiny and mostly white space with pops of colour.

I want to make this space 'girly' because my boyfriend refuses to let too much of it creep into the rest of the house. I'm not normally a real girly-girl when it comes to decorating but I feel I need a little touch of it in my office!

  1. I totally agree with wanting to have a girly office! My vision for our apartment is pretty masculine and dark, i'm bringing in femininity by adding a lot of luxurious textures and glamorous patterns and finishes. BUT I am planning to do a pretty girly little office area, and am doing a closet turned office project. Love your inspiration photos!

I am 100% on board with the direction you are going for your office space...that one with the little guilded chair in front of the desk is *singing* to me! Music to my eyes. 4. What beautiful pictures! I am really drawn to the white one with the green desk chair - so lovely! Our office is very masculine and dark and I would love to mix some feminine pieces in to brighten and soften. Can't wait to see what you do!

  9. A mom who can tile?! Awesomeness! My husband and I are working on our home office too, though neither of us actually use the room that much. I don't need a girly room, but I do need the garrish green paint that he picked out five years ago to be covered with a better color!

  10. Thanks for the post! I am about to redo my office and will be using this as design inspiration! My favorite is when they mix an acrylic chair with an older looking desk.
