Moody, masculine style

One of my dream jobs as an interior designer is a moody, masculine apartment for a sophisticated bachelor. It would be modern with just a touch of vintage, with lots of beautiful natural timber and stone, with touches of worn leather and modern chrome.

I would use a mix of contemporary, mid-century and vintage pieces with warm colours and fantastic contemporary art.

The bathrooms would have to be interesting, minimalist and clean lines but with touches of vintage to stop that clinical feel.

An exposed brick wall is an obvious choice for a bachelor pad, but it does look fantastic. I love the use of tartan bedding here.

A dark timber floor beautifully offsets the chrome and worn leather of these dining chairs.

And finally, the kitchen would need to be modern but with an industrial edge. These black bricks are perfection against the white gloss of the cabinets.

If you know any stylish men, please introduce me to one of my dream clients! In the meantime, I'm going to start designing some new Steal/Style kits for bachelors.

  2. I'm sure that these pics will get you to the look you want. I can't but help getting ideas in my head that eventually pan out. Come see my desk that I painted this past week. It is vintage but the rest of my home is modern. Cool, huh?
