A not-a-princess girl's room!

I've been working for a wonderful client recently and we are about to start on her little girl's room. I ADORE working on kid's spaces so this is shaping up to be a great project!

For my inspiration I've been looking for girl's spaces on Pinterest that feel girly, fun and colourful, but don't have that 'princess' factor I see in a lot of pink girly spaces.

  2. Beautiful rooms - I love the green one best I think. It's very hard to do a pink room without making it too little girly. I think Phoebe Howard did one that was lovely - very pale pink walls with everything else white. I did my daughter's room in a raspberry pink (pics on blog) that will hopefully be a room that grows with her.

  3. Love these looks Anna! My daughter has an aqua blue room with pink and yellow accents, and it's definitely a scheme that will grow with her.

  4. Hi Anna, I really love the second and third rooms they're both girly without going overboard. Even though I have three girls and have decorated their rooms plenty of times I have never been big on the whole 'princess' theme, I'm not quite sure why but it bugs me...lol...maybe because I don't consider myself a girly girl though I like feminine things....later this year I'll be re-designing Bec's room so I'll show you the end result and see what you think, it's always good to have another decorators point of view....xo

  5. Hi Anna, I love all of these but especially the second one. Princessy rooms are always nice when they are "little" but they grow out of those rooms very quickly!

  6. Love all of the rooms for various elements, but rooms 2 and 3 are my fav!
My 3yo daugters bedroom is almost finished...I have chosen duck egg blue for the walls (Murobond Tara's bowl..Tara from better homes and gardens's kitchen)and white plantation shutters and furniture. The exception being her bed being a metalic purple/pink (Porter's Monkey Magic). Pale pink is in there also in small ways, as this age it is hard to avoid! In a few years time I plan on replacing the purple and pinks with red or rasberry.

  7. Hi, Anna!! Happy 2013!! So sorry I have been so outta the loop:( Did you redo your blog layout? It looks great! We are getting started on Maura's "big girl room", so these are perfect for me. Loove the third room with the three dimensional butterflies...so cool! Love the color palette, the book shelves and all the pattern as well.
