I've started pulling together ideas for my kitchen space. The whole house is designed to be a mix of contemporary and vintage styles, and the kitchen and dining area is no exception.
At this stage I've chosen a light vinyl planking from Tarkett's range. It's a great vinyl planking product that we use regularly at the builder I work with. As much as I love timber floors, it's a little out of budget for this build, and I don't love the look of tiles. Vinyl planking is easy to look after and I'm excited to try a white-washed look after the last few years of living with dark floors.
The rest of the kitchen will be light and bright, because I want to layer in lots of art and bolder coloured furniture pieces throughout the house. Here's what I have so far...
I'm sticking very closely to a 'standard' budget for a new build, so we will most likely stay with laminate cupboards and countertops for now. I was very keen for an Ikea kitchen but I'm still talking to the bank so I'm not sure how that will go!
What do you think? Do you think it's worth the splurge for gloss cabinetry, or a matt look could work just as well with the gold handles?
